Kenyan marathon debutant Njue wins in Hokkaido

Kenyan Cyrus Njue had a victorious start to his marathon career winning the race in Hokkaido Japan on Sunday (29 August).
What’s more Njue’s winning time of 2 hours 11 minutes and 22 seconds (2:11:22) is the second fastest time ever run on the course. Ethiopia’s Ambesse Tolossa set the course record of 2:10.13 in 1998.

Laalou, Masai shine in Rouen, New York

Morocco’s Amine Laalou prevailed in the 800m at the Scotville Rouen International meet in France (13 June). 
Other Africans winners were Kenyan Bernard Mbugua (8:16.22) in the 3000m steeplechase and Ethiopian Meskerem Assefa (4:05.62) in the women’s 1500m.

Limo victorious in San Diego

Kenya’s 2001 World 5000m champions Ricahrd Limo claimed victory in the Rock n’ Roll Marathon in San Diego California USA last Sunday (06 June).
He covered the distance in 2 hours nine minutes and 56 seconds. Fellow Kenyan William chebor was trunner up ahad of Americans Nick Arciniaga.
