Kenyans David Kiposgei Mutai and Jane Nyambura won the men’s and women’s titles at the MTN Kampala International Marathon on Sunday (November 22).
Tanzanian’s Marko J Marko and Joseph Restitute prevailed in the men’s and women’s Half Marathon. Ugandans Ben Siwa (29:42) and Rebecca Cheptengei (36:26) were victorious in the 10km event.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was been crowned the IAAF World Male Athlete of the Year at the World Athletics Gala in Monaco on Sunday.

Little-known Ethiopian runners Tilahun Regasse and Koreni Jelila emerged winners at the Great Ethiopian 10km Run in the capital Addis Ababa on Sunday.
A record entry of 33,000 athletes set off on the course through the streets of Addis Ababa. Clearly, Africa’s largest 10km road race, this year’s entry surpasses last year mark of 31,500 runners.
