Odumosu, Abogunloko shines in Brazzaville now heads to Warri

NIGERIAN All Africa Games 400 hurdles champion Ajoke Odumosu better her season best to 55.03 at the Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) in Brazzaville Republic of Congo on Sunday (10 June).
She is among Nigeria elite athletes expected to sparkle at the CAA Grand Prix Meeting in Warri Delta State Nigeria on Thursday (14 June).
18 year old Bukola Abogunloko and Margeret Etim clocked 52.21 and 52.41 seconds respectively in Brazzaville. For over two months they trained and competed from their base in Atlanta Georgia USA.
Now they are set to add intensity to the one lap race where several new finds recently qualified for the World Junior Champions. These include Adeloye Tosin (52.97), Rita Ossai (53.70) and Ekanem Comfort (54.47) and Funke Oladoye (55.18).
Back in Brazzaville on Sunday, Aziz Ouhadi clocked 20.50 seconds to set a 200m meet and Moroccan national record He also set a meet 100m record of 10.10 seconds. Kenya’s Abel Mutai established a 3000m steeplechase meet record of 8:08.44.
Local fans had plenty to cheer when Dorcas Lorene Bazolo set Congo national record in the women’s 100m and 200m in 11.72 and 23.95 seconds respectively, as Frank Elemba set men’s shot put record at 17.57m.
