Kipkorir shine at Beppu-Oita the Marathon

Kenyan Jonathan Kipkorir held off a late challenge from his compatriot Daniel Njenga to win the Beppu-Oita in Japan on Sunday.

A late surge by Njenga was not enough to outpace Kipklorir as be went onto cross the finish line in 2:10:50. Njenga who was six seconds behind, was followed by Australian Jeffery Hunt (2:11:00) and Japan’s Atsushi Ikawa (2:11:04) who were running the first marathon of their careers
