John Ampomah and Janet Amponsah are Ghana’s 2015 Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards winners, the Ghana Athletics Association awards organiser Erasmus Kwaw disclosed in Accra on Monday.
Sponsored by Liquid Sports Ghana and Ethiopian Airlines this inaugural annual awards is aimed at reviving and uplifting the profile of Ghanaian athletics.

Ampomah clinched the silver medal in javelin with a throw of 82.94m at the All Africa Games in Brazzaville Republic of Congo.

Sprinter Janet Amponsah clocked her lifetime best of 11.29 seconds and 23.05 seconds in 100m and 200m respectively. At the All Africa Games she was fourth in 200m. Amponsah went on to anchor the Ghana women’s 4x100m relay team that bagged the silver medal.
